French toast with Maroilles cheese

We asked Karine, chef at La Hutterie, to share her recipe!
For 6 people - 1 baguette - 1 Maroilles cheese - 2 eggs – 200ml amber beer – 500ml milk - 50g butter - salt - pepper

1-Cut your baguette into 12 slices and let them harden for half a day
2-Mix together the milk, beer, eggs, salt and pepper
3-Incorporate the hardened bread into this mixture until all the liquid has been absorbed
4-Pre-heat your oven to 180°
5-Gently brown the butter in a pan and fry the bread on both sides until golden
6-Place the pieces of bread in a ramekin and cover with a slice of Maroilles cheese
7-Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 mins
It’s ready to eat! Enjoy as a starter with a green salad!
