ON A JAUNT WITH MY MATES!

When Jeff chills out!

SPORTY AND FUN-LOVING

My name’s Jeff. I’m 45 and I’m a nurse. I live in Paris with Amy and my son Mathieu.
I always set aside a week of “me time” at Fort-Mahon-Plage, especially since I’ve been living in Paris.
I’ve been coming here for more than 10 years now. It does me good, and I feel like a fish in water!

THE IDEAL DESTINATION FOR GETTING AWAY FROM IT ALL

Fort-Mahon-Plage is like a decompression chamber. Every year, I set aside a week of “me time” in May or June, depending on my holidays.
My definition of chilling out? An intensive week of sand-yachting and invigorating ocean spray!

It’s like home from home here; I have my bearings, my little habits, and my friends. I have my own little ritual: when I get to Fort-Mahon-Plage, I always start off with a walk in Authie Bay, which is my way of marking my break with and my re-acquaintance with the area.

IN SAND-YACHTING PILOT MODE!

I had a great time on my break this year; I signed up for a sand-yachting course.
I was even lucky enough to meet Amaury Lequette by chance, the champion of France and Europe. It was a real joy to be able to chat and talk techniques with him. By putting his tips into practice, I was able to correct my mistakes in just a few manoeuvres!

I know, you think I’m a big kid at heart – you’re absolutely right! When I’m in my sand-yacht, I can feel my adrenalin rise. I love the sensations you get when it's going at full speed.

As well as that, I love the atmosphere on these courses; there’s always a really good camaraderie.
I'll leave you to imagine our evenings, which usually involved getting together for drinks or a seafood feast at a restaurant!

A SPIN ON THE GREEN

As the course was over 3 days, I had plenty of time to spend an afternoon golfing at Belle Dune with my friends Arnaud and Jo.
We’re no pros, but we don't do too badly, really! The surroundings are superb, and you can even see the sea from the links!
There’s no uptight atmosphere, it’s very friendly, and we always find someone who can give us some tips!
We round off the afternoon with a drink on the terrace overlooking the lake; the new clubhouse is really great!

AUTHIE BAY AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE

Arnaud, Jo and my Fort-Mahon friends invited me to do a parachute jump, so I could see Authie Bay from the sky and mark my 45th birthday in style!
I swear I was shaking right up until I jumped, but the experience was unbelievable and the view…. well it was breathtaking. I can almost feel like I’m still there!

My heart is pretty much torn between sand-yachting and parachuting now!
