A stress-free weekend with Jade, Laura and Alex
Expert advice !
WITH A HEALTHY APPETITE FOR LIFE
My name’s Jade. I'm a bit of a wandering spirit; I love travelling, but that doesn't mean I don't love exploring the places around where I live, which are just as wonderful as those on the other side of the world. The girls felt I was the best placed to organise this type of weekend, but I’m not so sure…
OUR TRIO DECIDED FORT-MAHON-PLAGE
SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA FOR A GIRLY WEEKEND.
We live in Reims and the idea of driving two and half hours to see the sea had us all chorusing “YES!” with no hesitation!
There’s no better option for taking a break from our day to day routine.
And there’s nothing better than booking a weekend with friends, even if it has to be in a year’s time! It’s always jam-packed with laughter, exploring, doing things together and feeling like we’d never left school! Well, you know what I mean!
In any case, we get to make some lovely memories, and it’s great to see how everyone’s doing.
Right, so let’s move on from the emotional side of things and take a look at the itinerary we’ve come up with.
Fort-Mahon-Plage, its activities and its surroundings tick all the boxes on our relaxation “to do list” that we’ve devised as a way of recharging our batteries.
We ended up in the sea, the water was reaching us at the waist and we thus advanced in the water. It’s a special feeling because of the roll of the water, going against the current, you feel the effort, but it is pleasant and rejuvenating.
Ever motivated by our sporty Laura, we then followed the Royon loop trail. Wow, it was beautiful!
Je n’ai pas eu de difficultés à mettre tout le monde d’accord sur le fait de faire le plein d’iode.
Cuisine using herbs and local produce are just some of the flavours I love to sample wherever I go.
We stopped off in a small shop near the beach and discovered some delicious things like glasswort and sea-buckthorn, which is packed with vitamins. Jelly, tea, honey, syrup… no need to mention that we stocked up for friends and work colleagues!.
Then it was off for a serious shopping spree, where Laura found herself a little jacket, Alex picked out a bag, and I – well I’ve always had a weakness for Breton tops (I could have bet on the selection they’d have).
My choice of restaurantsThis is the event that helped us settle on a date for our weekend. We were all amazed by the displays, and I had a great time taking photos. We loved the market of salvaged and recycled objects made from driftwood and shells…
We even tried it ourselves! Here we are, barefoot in the sand, armed with our rakes and guided by Alex, the most artistic of our trio!
We absolutely loved it. ! The atmosphere and the gigs…. Something tells me we’ll be back!
