HAVING FUN WITH THE GANG

Emma’s holidays

Expert opinion

Emma

MISCHIEVOUS AND A BIT OF A HANDFUL!

My name's Emma. I’m 6 years old, and I live in Beauvais with my mum.
I like drawing and love animals. Mum always carries a little pad and crayons so I can draw what I've been doing on holiday.
She says I’ll love to look all these memories again when I'm older !

THE BEACH IS JUST A HUGE PLAYGROUND

Ever since I was very young, my mum has taken me to the seaside; we’ve been going to Fort-Mahon-Plage since last year.
Mum says it’s handy, as we don’t live far.  I’m excited and very impatient, because the summer holidays are pretty soon !
We’ll be going back to Fort Mahon. I’ll be able to see Zoé again, my friend I made last year, who’ll be there on holiday with her grandparents.
I can’t wait to see her again ! Together we’ll make sandcastles even bigger than last year’s, and will eat ice-creams with her grandma.

SEAL-SPOTTING

One of my favourite activities on holiday is a "boots" day, when we slosh about in the sea when there’s not much water.
Mum brings buckets and nets so we can go shrimping and crabbing.
I love seeing seals at low tide! I even saw a baby seal last year, so now I always carry my Oty cuddly toy with me.
The guide uses binoculars and let me look through the lens so I could see seals from closer up.  It’s absolutely magical, it feels like they’re right in front of you !

DINNER IS SERVED !

After my day in the sea, I ate a load of funny shells. Mum said they were mussels.
They were delicious! And Zoé loved them too !  When I saw the waitress bring the big pot, I was pleased to see that I’d be allowed to eat with my fingers ! For once, I could do it without mum telling me off !
Grandma Suzanne showed me how to use the shells, like a clamp - it was such fun!

MARIE INTRODUCED US TO PONY RIDING

There’s loads to do here! You can go for pony rides in Authie Bay, and do remote-controlled mini sand-yachting. And now I'm big enough to be able to go out on Belle-Dune lake. This year, I asked mum and Grandma Suzanne to take us to the donkey centre, when Zoe and I like to stroke the donkeys and feed the goats. I can’t wait! We’ll also sign up for the Kids’ workshops, where we do lots of activities and make new friends.
